    If you still get “server refused our key” you will want to check the /var/log/securelog file and see if it gives you any hints.

    We ran into this and it turned out the PARENT directory did not have 755 permissions (rwxr-xr-x) and thus the authorized keys file in the .ssh subdirectory was deemed insecure.
